No. There is no ban on owning or flying DJI drones in the US. Since December 2025, DJI and Autel, along with essentially all foreign-made drones, sit on the FCC Covered List, which blocks new models from receiving FCC authorization. Units that were already authorized stay fully legal to buy, own, and fly.

The Covered List is the FCC's national-security list of equipment that cannot receive new US authorizations. In December 2025 it was expanded to include foreign-produced uncrewed aircraft and critical components. The practical effect is a closed pipeline for new foreign models, not a grounding of existing fleets.

Yes, while genuine, previously authorized stock lasts. Retailers may keep selling models that held FCC authorization before the listing, plus new units and replacement parts for those approved models. No. There is no legal or technical mechanism to remotely disable drones already in service. You can keep flying aircraft you legally own under existing FAA rules.

Yes. Commercial operations in the US require an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, aircraft registration, and Remote ID broadcast where applicable. Recreational flyers follow the FAA recreational rules and pass the TRUST test.
